Chelsea have not been impressive this season, and their wing-back Victor Moses (thigh) has been ruled out, while a late decision will be made on N’Golo Kante (also thigh).
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said he will have to wait to decide if any of Michael Carrick (calf), Marouane Fellaini, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo (all knee), Paul Pogba (thigh) and Jesse Lingard (back) can play. These players have not been sorely missed though.
Chelsea have lost only one of their last 15 home Premier League matches against Manchester United (W9 D5), while Manchester United have lost more matches (17) and conceded more goals (66) against Chelsea than they have against any other side in the PL

Man Utd have scored 21% of the total Premier League goals scored in the final 10 minutes of matches this season (10/47), and Man Utd substitutes have scored seven goals and assisted four more this season, both PL highs. The match will take place later in the evening today by 5:30pm Nigerian time.
Under pressure Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte said, “We are talking about a really good team, a strong team physically and it will be a very difficult game.”
Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, showing respect for his former team said, “It’s a big match, a big opponent, one of these matches between the top teams in the country. But from the emotional point of view it’s just one more game.”
Jose Mourinho has gone conservative against the top guns this term and he’s likely to go in a similar fashion against his former employers, Chelsea today.
Chelsea will be hosting Manchester Unitedtake at Stamford Bridge, a stadium that Mourinho turned into a fortress while he was their manager.
Antonio Conte’s men had a week to forget as they fell to a heavy 3-0 defeat in the hands of AS Roma in the Uefa Champions League. Chelsea’s league form hasn’t been also great as they are nine points from the top.
The Reds Devils on their path have had a fruitful season so far, dropping seven points from a possible 30, sitting five points behind leaders Manchester City. Their 2-0 win to Benfica in midweek also keeps them in charge of their group. United have not had luck at Stamford Bridge over the years but are tipped for victory today.
With both sides looking poised to take a conservative approach, a stalemate would be a highly probable outcome. Chelsea have lost just one of their last 15 Premier League home games against Manchester United.
If the Red Devils avoid defeat, they will become the first English top flight outfit to reach 900 away points. Five of the last six meetings between these giants have produced less than three goals.
Conte’s Chelsea have kept just five clean sheets in all competitions this term. With their defensive problems not looking to go away as it is not sure if N’Golo Kante will play today.
